First Annual ArcheryFest Presented by Bear Archery an Instant Hit Amongst Midwest Familiesby Bear Archery
Evansville, IN (August 16, 2021) — Fred Bear, Godfather of modern bowhunting and founder of Bear Archery founded the iconic bow company with the goal to make quality archery equipment available to everyone. The company today holds tight to the same principle more than 85 years later and that was particularly clear this past weekend at the first annual ArcheryFest presented by Bear. On Saturday, more than 750 people from around the Midwest gathered at Angel Mounds State Recreation Area in Southern Indiana for a day of archery activities and general entertainment for this first ever ArcheryFest.
The successful event featured a wide variety of activities such as an archery range with Bear Archery bows to shoot, an iron target novelty shot, an inflatable obstacle course, music, free food and beverages, and more than $15,000 in giveaway prizes. The event was open to the general public at no cost with the goal of allowing the community to explore archery in a social and noncompetitive environment. The archery range allowed men, women, and youth to shoot popular options in the Bear bow line like the Royale RTH, Legit RTH, Grizzly, Kodiak, and Fred Bear Take Down.
“The decision to host a free event for the public to come and experience archery and all that Fred Bear stood for was a unanimous and easy one for our team. All our brands today hold true to Fred’s aim of developing and distributing quality bow equipment that appeals to everyone regardless of age, social status, or gender.” Said Jon Lene, Bear Archery’s General Manager. “We’re grateful for everyone that came out to support the event over the weekend. It was a success on all accounts and our team is hard at work to make it bigger and better next year.”
Bear Archery currently offers more than thirty various compound, traditional, and crossbow models at all price ranges. The bows offer industry leading adjustability and technology and can accommodate practically anyone looking to get into the sport. Bear’s family of archery brands which includes Trophy Ridge, SIK Broadheads, and Cajun Bowfishing is a recognized leader in the archery industry for their broad and consumer focused products.
